Personal Statement

As a specialist in pulmonary and critical care medicine I have the privilege of taking care of a wide variety of patients with complex medical illnesses.  When patients are admitted to the intensive care they are at their sickest and it is also a very trying time for their loved ones.  In the medical intensive care unit we work as a team to provide the best in modern critical care for our patients.  From titrating potent medications, adjusting ventilators, and treating a broad array of conditions, we harness knowledge from all walks of medicine to get patients and their families through these difficult times.  In addition to medications, tests, and procedures, the emotional connection we form with our patients and their families is important and unique.  It is a truly an honor to be able to practice medicine in this environment and with many amazing colleagues.
