Dr. Jihye Kim is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She specializes in adult psychiatry, providing medication management, psychotherapy, and diagnostic consultations. She also provides clinical supervision for the PGY-2 adult psychiatry resident physicians off-unit and in the WCM Wellness Qlinic.

Dr. Jihye Kim obtained her MD with distinction in research in translational science from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by Adult Psychiatry Residency training at NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell/Payne Whitney Clinic. During her residency, Dr. Kim was recognized for her research with Samuel W. Perry III, MD Distinguished Award in Psychiatry Medicine and NIMH Outstanding Resident Award Program, as well as for her teaching of first year and second year medical students. She pursued further basic science research fellowship training with Dr. Francis S. Lee, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Kim is a fellow in the Burroughs Wellcome Weill Cornell Physician Scientist Academy and is currently continuing her research work in Dr. Lee's laboratory. Her research focuses on understanding basic molecular and neural circuit mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders, with specific focus on the role of neurotrophic growth factors in behaviors related to the pathophysiology and treatment of affective and anxiety-based disorders.
