Biographical Info

Dr. Ameya Save is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Save treats injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. He has additional expertise in complex post-traumatic reconstruction of the upper extremity and treatment of peripheral nerve injuries. Dr. Save believes in exhausting all nonsurgical options whenever possible, before considering surgical treatment. He is dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized care to help patients get back to the activities that matter most to them.

Dr. Save received his medical education at the Yale University School of Medicine. During medical school, he dedicated a full year to orthopedic surgery research at the renowned Yale Biomechanics Laboratory. He then completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery.

Dr. Save has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and has presented his work at regional, national, and international conferences. He was nominated to the Resident Leadership Forum of the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA). He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
