Physicians in the Division of Child Neurology bring together expertise in neurogenetics from both clinical and research perspectives. Our physicians, in collaboration with clinical geneticists, refer patients to a weekly neurogenetics research clinic for advanced genetic evaluation and testing.

At our specialized, state-of-the-art practice, we pinpoint your child's seizures and what may be triggering them and work with you to tailor a plan of care that meets your child's needs. Our goal is to provide an immediate assessment, thorough evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and treatment. Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis cause chronic inflammation of the lining of the intestines. We take a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with IBD.  Our goal is to help young patients with IBD keep their disease in check, so they can continue to live full lives throughout childhood, adolescence, and beyond. If your child has problems with motility — the coordinated contraction and movement of the digestive tract — we know how much these problems can interfere with your child's and your family's quality of life. Children can develop motility disorders that range from relatively benign conditions such as constipation to more serious disorders such as Hirschsprung's disease.

The Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Obesity Program uses various approaches to address the growing problem of obesity and its metabolic complications, including insulin resistance, elevated blood pressure, dyslipidemia, fatty liver, and the progression of insulin resistance to type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Our efforts range from prevention and education to understanding the causes of obesity, studying medication effects on weight gain and metabolic changes, and providing treatment options to our patients.

The Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Diabetes Program provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and support for children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their families.

Because most children with newly diagnosed diabetes initially require hospitalization, our team will often first meet families and perform the majority of initial education for diabetes management in the hospital setting. For new visits to our outpatient offices, we schedule appointments whenever possible so that families can meet with our entire team of physicians, nurse practitioners and nutritionists.

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of inherited medical conditions in which the adrenal glands do not function properly. There are several forms of CAH, all caused by different enzyme deficiencies, which cause insufficient production of cortisol (stress hormone) along with the underproduction or overproduction of various other hormones. Patients may not produce enough aldosterone (salt-retaining hormone) and may produce high levels of androgens (such as testosterone).
