William Reisacher, M.D.
Dr. Reisacher graduated from Cornell University and received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine with distinction in research. He trained for two years in General Surgery at St. Vincent's Medical Center followed by a four year Otolaryngology residency at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. He completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. His clinical expertise lies in the diagnosis and management of airborne and food allergies in adults and children. He also specializes in the medical and surgical management of tonsillitis, ear infections, acid reflux, hearing loss, dizziness, thyroid problems and salivary disorders. He offers the latest treatments for snoring and sleep apnea.
Dr. Reisacher is an Otolaryngic Allergist who joins the Faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College as Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology and the Director of Allergy within the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ENT). His clinical expertise lies in the diagnosis and management of airborne and food allergies in adults and children. He uses the latest desensitization techniques, including sublingual immunotherapy (drops placed under the tongue at home), along with minimally-invasive skin-testing methods. As a board-certified Otolaryngologist, he is able to offer his patients the most effective balance of surgical and medical treatment for sinus and nasal problems to help them regain their quality of life and return as quickly as possible to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Reisacher received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University in 1990 and graduated from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1994 with Distinction in Research. He then trained for two years in General Surgery at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan, followed by a four year Otolaryngology residency at The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. After residency, Dr. Reisacher built a successful private ENT/Allergy practice in the lower Hudson Valley and completed his Fellowship with the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Currently, he is the only Otolaryngologist practicing in Manhattan who has attained this level of training in allergy.
Dr. Reisacher is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of tonsillitis, ear infections, acid reflux, hearing loss, dizziness, thyroid problems and salivary gland disorders. In addition, he offers the latest treatments for snoring and sleep apnea.
Dr. Reisacher has presented his research at national meetings and has published papers examining the effects of immune system disorders on various diseases of the head and neck. His other research interests include food desensitization, the relationship of allergy to thyroid disease and the impact of pregnancy on allergies. He treats patients of all ages and believes that taking time to listen to his patients and helping them understand all of their treatment options are necessary steps towards developing a trusting and effective doctor-patient relationship.
