The Midtown Center for Treatment and Research is a comprehensive outpatient program dedicated to evaluating patients and creating a path forward for recovery. Through a commitment to the growth process, we hope to guide individuals toward lasting change. Our program provides an integrated approach to recovery and wellness.

Intake and Treatment Evaluation
Includes an initial evaluation session followed by a medical and psychiatric evaluation
Individualized Treatment Planning
Tailored to the individual’s needs; typically includes a blend of group and individual therapy modalities.
Group Psychotherapy
Our core treatment approach includes all aspects of the recovery process, including didactic/education and emotional support facilitated by a licensed clinician. Studies indicate that participants in a group setting exhibit greater improvement through the development of a strong recovery network.
Individual Psychotherapy
We employ a range of therapeutic interventions to facilitate recovery, including Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, Trauma-focused Therapy with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Neurofeedback.

Mondays
Living with Intention in Recovery
11 am EST
Living with intention means making conscious decisions aligned with your goals and values. As we start the week, we reflect on our weekend, asking what we did to support our recovery, values and the person we wish to be? What did we do that may have conflicted with this? How will we improve and grow in the week ahead?
Wellness in Recovery
1 pm EST
In this group, we explore recovery skills including gratitude, mindfulness, effective communication, happiness, values, and meditation. Our fully guided meditations are under 10 minutes and are suitable for first-time beginners.
Tuesdays
Preventing Relapse in Recovery
11 am EST
This group focuses on relapse prevention. We will cover the essential elements of a sober life: a consistent and rewarding routine, the self-awareness to recognize “red flags,” and the cognitive and behavioral tools to cope with them skillfully.
Stress Management
1 pm EST
This group focuses on developing strategies to handle stress in sobriety. We will address maladaptive behaviors and explore ways to cope in a healthy and productive manner. Topics will include conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and other daily coping skills.
Process with Self-Compassion (In-person)
4 pm EST
Self-compassion is a way of treating yourself as you would a friend or loved one: with kindness, patience, understanding, and forgiveness. Changing your inner voice from a constant critic to an encouraging and supportive friend creates a positive mindset, self-confidence, and resilience.
Wednesdays
Emotional Regulation
11 am EST
This group begins with the practice of identifying and naming emotions and body sensations, and explores emotional regulation techniques including breathwork, tapping, progressive muscle relaxation and more. ALL emotions are welcomed as you will learn to “name it to tame it.”

Triggers in Recovery
1 pm EST
Explore common triggers in recovery and how to develop the skills and tools to manage them.
Fridays
Socializing Sober
11 am EST
This group is designed to prepare participants for social settings outside of treatment. We will explore how to manage both anticipated and unexpected triggers within these spaces. Clients will be able to connect with each other connect with each other, build community through sober activities, and offer each other insight and support.
Creative Recovery
1 pm EST
Creativity is inherent in all of us. You don’t need to be artistic to participate in this group. We will provide guided activities to allow you to be playful and spark your imagination to aid in the recovery process.
