Biographical Info

Dr. Liang Shen is a board-certified anesthesiologist with additional board-certification in critical care medicine. He provides care for patients undergoing surgery in the general operating rooms, the cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CTICU), and the postanesthesia care unit (PACU).

Dr. Shen received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, cum laude. He attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he concurrently earned his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees. He then pursued his postgraduate medical training in anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he also completed a fellowship in critical care medicine.

Dr. Shen's academic interests lie in critical care education, curriculum development for postgraduate physicians, including residents and fellows, and simulation in education. He has served as a director of the Anesthesiology Clerkship for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College, and currently the Associate Program Director for the Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship. He is active in various national and international organizations for critical care and anesthesiology.
