Biographical Info

Karen Teresa Brown, M.D. is a board-certified radiologist specializing in interventional Radiology. She is a sessional Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-PresbyterianHospital-Weill Cornell Campus.

Dr. Brown graduated from the University of Michigan where she earned her B.A.in 1973. She then received her M.D. in 1979 from the Boston University School of medicine.

Dr. Brown completed her residency in General Surgery at Emory UniversitySchool of Medicine from 1979-1980. She then completed her fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular Radiology at Harvard Medical School in 1985. After subsequent years in clinical practice, Dr. Brown joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in September 2022 as a Professor of Clinical Radiology.

Dr. Brown’s clinical expertise is in Interventional Radiology. Dr. Brown’s research interests include, but not limited to hepatobiliary oncology, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) trans-arterial therapy for HCC, specifically investigation of the specific factors that influence response to treatment from these treatments. She has also been actively involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
