About Daniel Shalev, M.D.
I am a physician, a researcher, and an educator passionate about improving the wellness of people living with serious medical illnesses like heart failure, cancer, and chronic lung disease. Having a serious illness is among the most challenging experiences for both patients and caregivers. My work as a psychiatrist, palliative medicine physician, and researcher is driven by a mission is to ensure that every patient and family impacted by serious medical illnesses has access to the individualized support and care that they need to live well, even in the face of medical challenges.
Dr. Daniel Shalev is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine in Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Shalev completed psychiatry residency at Columbia University followed by fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (psychiatric care of individuals with medical and surgical illnesses) and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and maintains triple board-certification. Clinically, Dr. Shalev provides palliative and psychiatric care to patients at Weill Cornell with serious medical illnesses.
