Personal Statement

Dr. McCullough cares for patients with both common and rare cardiovascular diseases, and tailors therapies supported with robust evidence to fit each individual patient's needs. It is his goal to improve the health and well-being of patients with heart disease using meaningful lifestyle changes alongside medical therapies.

Dr. McCullough is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to caring for patients at the Weill Greenberg Center, he interprets and performs stress tests, echocardiograms, and attends on the inpatient services at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. McCullough was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and completed his undergraduate education at Louisiana State University. He then attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he graduated in 2012 with Distinction in Medical Education and received the Harold Elster Memorial Prize for Highest Academic Standing. Following medical school, he completed Internal Medicine residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He then completed his training in cardiovascular diseases and echocardiography at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow.

Dr. McCullough's main clinical interests include studying methods to improve the cardiovascular education of trainees, how diagnostic testing can be best utilized to make appropriate therapeutic recommendations for patients, and the role of diagnostic testing in identifying our patients at highest risk. He is a proud father, a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American College of Cardiology.
