Personal Statement

I am an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital. I am a general cardiologist who treats a diverse array of cardiac diseases with a specific interest in sports cardiology, preventative care, and reducing health disparities. I also interpret echocardiograms and care for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. My primary goal is to provide high quality, compassionate, and individualized care. 

Biographical Info

Dr. Sonika Patel is a native of Cincinnati, OH. She graduated Magna Cum Laude at The Ohio State University and subsequently attended Tufts University School of Medicine. She then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. After residency, she completed her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital Clinical Track where she served as chief fellow for 2 years at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York.
