Biography

 

Dr. Palekar received his Medical Degree from the University of Pune, India in 2003. He completed his psychiatry residency from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Palekar distinguished himself in clinical, administrative and research areas and served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a focus on Late Life Schizophrenia Research.

 

He is board certified in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of Schizophrenia and Affective disorders using a combination of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
