Biography

Michael Awadallah, DMD, MD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens and an assistant professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Awadallah has a clinical interest in oral and maxillofacial oncologic surgery, surgical management of osteomyelitis, and medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws. He also has an interest in osteoradionecrosis, facial reconstruction, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.      

Dr. Awadallah performs a wide range of procedures, including ablative surgery, oral surgery, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, minor and major bone grafting, intravenous sedation, and pre-prosthetic surgery. He has presented his research at annual meetings of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has been published in various medical journals and textbooks.      

After earning his doctor of dental surgery from Columbia University School of Dentistry, Dr. Awadallah went on to pursue his doctorate of medicine from the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He served his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kings County Hospital Center, followed by a general surgery internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He returned to Kings County Hospital Center to complete his residency and chief residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He served his fellowship at North Memorial Medical Center in oral, head/neck oncologic and microvascular reconstructive surgery.
