Personal Statement

Juste Buneviciute, M.D. is on faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College as an Assistant Attending in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Emergency Psychiatry Service at NYPH - Weill Cornell Medical Center specializing in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. She utilizes both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to uniquely tailor treatments to individual patient needs.   

As an adult, adolescent and child psychiatrist, Dr. Buneviciute has extensive experience in treating ADHD, anxiety and depression with a special interest in academic difficulties, relationship stressors, professional burnout, and family stressors. Treatment focuses on developmentally appropriate techniques, such as medications, play therapy, cognitive and psychodynamic therapy in a safe and supportive environment for all ages.

Biographical Info

Dr. Buneviciute is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association.      

She completed both her Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. As a resident, she earned high praise for her clinical skills and showed a strong aptitude for leadership; as a fellow, she was appointed Chief Fellow.      

She earned her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine and her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University, where she was valedictorian and graduated summa cum laude.      

During this time she began studying mother-infant attachment formation which culminated in the publication of multiple studies on aggression in intellectually disabled individuals, as well as emotional regulation in adolescence.      

Dr. Buneviciute practices in English and Lithuanian, and welcomes new patients for diagnostic consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy with children, teenagers, adults and their families.
