Personal Statement

As Site Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lower Manhattan Hospital and Vice Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian, I am honored to lead a group of physicians committed to providing the highest level of care to the women in Lower Manhattan. My position combines my love of clinical medicine and individual patient care with my interest in "big picture" health care administration, developing programs to deliver extraordinary care to women. I am a specialist in general Obstetrics and Gynecology, which means I provide the full-spectrum of reproductive health care to all women. Additionally, I have a focused practice designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which means I have a particular interest and clinical expertise in the care of girls and young women. I love helping women transition through changes in their lives that present specific challenges, two of the most important being pregnancy and adolescence. As an Ob/Gyn, I find joy in having the opportunity to help guide women through these incredible, and sometimes difficult, times. Every patient comes to the patient-physician interaction with their own individual story. These stories in variably affect how they will engage with the health care system, and with us as physicians. To provide the best personalized care to patients, I believe it is our obligation to connect with our patients and try to learn their stories. Learning these stories will help us better care for our patients, and allow us to help our patients meet their goals.
