Biography

Dr. Costandi graduated from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where he was nominated and inducted into the BU Chapter of OKU Honor Society. He then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Columbia University/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. During his time at Columbia University, he earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, completed a one-year internship in General Surgery, acted as Chief Resident during  his last year of training and received the  interdepartmental resident of the month award for his exemplary patient care.

Dr. Costandi practices full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, oral rehabilitation and reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, benign maxillofacial pathology, and pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery. His specific interests are in the use of virtual surgical planning and 3D technology to reduce operating room times and improve clinical outcomes.

Dr. Costandi has been published in peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts and book chapters. He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Queens County Dental Society, and Academy of Osseointegration.
