Personal Statement

My goal as a clinical cardiologist is to provide comprehensive and evidence-based care to all my patients. In a new era of medical care, I believe in the incorporation of new technological innovations to provide improved and individually tailored care for our patients.


Dr. Sherifi practices general cardiology. In addition to seeing outpatients, she provides inpatient care at the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in the cardiac telemetry unit and the consultative cardiology service.

Dr. Sherifi received her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering at MIT. She completed her medical degree and residency at the University of Toronto. She additionally completed master’s level studies at the Universite’ Paris Diderot in Paris, France. Subsequently, she trained in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Sherifi is very interested in new technological applications in cardiology and has worked on two mobile applications for use in cardiology. One application is called CRMD Finder and is used for identification of cardiac rhythm management devices from Xray images and the other application is currently in development for decision management in bifurcation coronary artery lesions.

Dr. Sherifi is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography. She is fluent in Italian.
