Personal Statement

There are so many ways that human beings can suffer--feeling disconnected from loved ones, anxious about the future, or burdened by the weight of the past. Together, we can make sense of your present difficulties in the context of both your past and your hopes for the future.

For individual therapy, I will use individually-tailored, evidenced-based approaches to support you in gaining greater understanding, self-compassion, and the skills needed to build a more meaningful life aligned with what matters most to you.

If you are seeking out couples therapy, we will work to make sense of how you and your partner get caught up in a painful cycle of disconnection, gaining understanding of the hurt underneath these moments. From there, I will help you build new ways of connecting to each other, strengthening your bond.

No matter the treatment, I will join with you to promote healing and growth, using warmth, empathy, attunement to identity and culture, and a non-judgmental stance. While pain is inevitable to the human experience, I hope to create an environment where you can feel less alone as you learn to navigate these experiences effectively, re-connecting to yourself and others.
