Personal Statement

I am a general internist who is committed to building meaningful relationships with my patients and helping them navigate through the complex health care system. I am particularly interested in obesity medicine and its impact on chronic medical problems and have done research in hypertension screening. As I speak Korean and Spanish, I hope to build a diverse patient panel and communicate effectively with patients from all backgrounds.

Biography

Dr. Deborah Fung was born in South Korea and grew up in Queens, New York. She majored in Biochemistry and studied Spanish at New York University, and earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine/Primary Care at WeillCornell - New York Presbyterian. Dr. Fung is board certified in American Board of Internal Medicine. In her free time, she likes to go hiking, bouldering, and exploring her Brooklyn neighborhood.
