Personal Statement

As a member of the Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology team, I provide comprehensive eye care as well as sub-specialty care in ophthalmic plastic surgery.  My practice focuses on treating a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including: cataracts, tearing, ocular trauma, eyelid abnormalities and cosmetic eyelid procedures.  Upon meeting you, my main goal is to discover your concerns and to address them to the best of my ability.  Communication is a top priority and I strive to make sure that all patients leave my office with a thorough understanding of their ocular health.  I feel fortunate to work at an eye center with a dedicated and compassionate staff, as well as incredible colleagues in all of the different ophthalmic sub-specialties.  I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of your medical team and to helping keep your eyes healthy for a lifetime.

Dr. Benjamin Levine is a board-certified ophthalmologist and an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine.  Dr. Levine provides comprehensive eye care as well as specialty care in oculoplastic surgery and serves as the director of the ophthalmology inpatient consult service at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine and the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Dr. Levine graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  After college, Dr. Levine was selected as an Intramural Research Training Award Scholar at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.  Following his year at the N.I.H., Dr. Levine attended medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he graduated with Distinction.  After completing an internship in internal medicine at Cabrini Medical Center of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, Dr. Levine went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Medical College of Cornell University.  After completing his residency training, Dr. Levine was honored to be selected as Chief Resident and to remain an additional year at Weill Cornell Medicine as an instructor in ophthalmology.  Following his year as Chief Resident, Dr. Levine completed a one year preceptorship in ophthalmic plastic surgery, also at Weill Cornell Medicine.
