Personal Statement

I am very excited to be a part of the Weill Cornell Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. My interest in GI began even before entering medical school and continued to develop throughout my medical training. Gastrointestinal health and diseases of the intestinal tract have such a profound impact on the lives of our patients. Having the tools and expertise to care for patients with GI diseases is a privilege, and I believe that the patient-doctor relationship is key to the successful management of GI conditions.

My clinical practice focuses on general gastroenterology as well as the care of patients with gastrointestinal cancers and those at high risk for developing these cancers, many of which are preventable. I am particularly interested in hereditary GI cancer syndromes, both from a clinical and research perspective, as these patients need a multi-disciplinary team of medical providers who understand their unique risks and needs.
