Personal Statement

My desire to become a pediatrician was sparked when I was a child. I looked up to my pediatrician and as cliché as it may be, I wanted to help children through medicine. Becoming a pediatric gastroenterologist has integrated many of my interests: continuity of patient care in clinic, various skilled procedures and working with acute and critically ill patients of varied medical complexity in the hospital. My goal is to always be a compassionate physician and provide excellent care by practicing evidence-based medicine to improve the well-being of children with acute and chronic gastrointestinal issues. I believe that listening closely and working with both patients and their family will provide high quality care and development towards a strong, trusting and supportive relationship.
