Surgical Pathology has been described as the "Pathology of the Living". It is an evaluation that results in a diagnosis on tissues removed from any organ of the body. As such, it includes a number of subspecialties. Among these are Breast Pathology, GI pathology, GU Pathology, GYN pathology, Hematopathology, Neuropathology, Placental and Perinatal Pathology, and Renal pathology. The Weill Cornell Medical College is fortunate to have world recognized experts as faculty in each of these areas of subspecialization. These faculty are available for consultation both within and outside the institution.
