Diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including:
- salivary glands
- thyroid and parathyroid
- lips and oral cavity
- throat (larynx and pharynx)
The clinical focus of the Section of Endocrine Surgery is to employ "Minimally Invasive Techniques" to provide superb care. To this end, thyroid and parathyroid surgery is performed under local or regional anesthesia using small incisions. Adrenal tumors are approached via laparoscopic techniques whenever possible.
