Mallay Barclay Occhiogrosso, M.D.
Mallay Occhiogrosso, MD has private practice which is open for consultations, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology. She combines both non-psychopharmacological and psychopharmacological interventions in her treatment approach. Her office is located in the Payne Whitney Clinic of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Dr. Occhiogrosso is a graduate of Harvard College, where she completed a bachelor's degree in history. She received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was an award-winning medical student in the field of psychiatry and did research on mood and memory disorders.
Dr. Occhiogrosso completed her residency in adult psychiatry at the Payne Whitney Clinic of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Subsequently she has been on the full-time clinical faculty of the department of psychiatry of Weill Cornell Medical College. Her areas of specialty include reproductive psychiatry, personality disorders, and the history of psychiatry.
She is an attending at the Payne Whitney Women’s Program (www.pwwp.org), as well as in the inpatient unit and general adult outpatient clinic of the Payne Whitney Clinic, and also sees patients in her private practice. She is an instructor at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she teaches medical students and psychiatric residents. She currently is involved in clinical research in both women's mental health and personality disorders, and is the director of the Richardson History of Psychiatry Research Seminar of the department of psychiatry of Weill Cornell Medical College. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Association of Historians of Medicine.
Dr. Occhiogrosso is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
