Lilja Bjork Solnes, M.D., Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus, is a member of the Division of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Solnes is a graduate of Hamilton College, earning her B.A., magna cum laude, in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology in 1994. She was awarded her M.D. degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons in 2000. Dr. Solnes earned her Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 2000 from Columbia University School of Business.
After spending a transitional year as a medical intern at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Solnes completed residency training in diagnostic radiology (2001-2005) at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital- Columbia University Medical Center.& Dr. Solnes was elected to serve as Chief Resident in Radiology in 2004-2005. In 2007, Dr. Solnes completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital- Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Solnes was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons (2007-2008).Dr. Solnes then completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center (2009-2010) after which she was appointed Instructor in Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus in September 2010. Dr. Solnes is an active clinician and teacher.Her clinical and research interests are in molecular imaging of the brain.
Dr. Solnes achieved Board Certification in diagnostic radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 2006 and in Nuclear Medicine from the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 2010.
