Ina N. Cholst, M.D.
Reproductive Endocrinology
"The Ronald O. Perelman and Claudio Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College is a leader in the field of donor egg in vitro fertilization; not only in terms of technical advances, but also with respect to screening donors, ethical issues and emotional support. It is enormously personally satisfying for me to work in this area. Our egg donation services help couples to experience pregnancy and childbirthwhen other treatment options have been exhausted."
Dr. Ina Cholst graduated with honors from Swarthmore College in 1973 and from NYU School of Medicine in 1977. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University's School of Medicine in 1981 and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1983. She is board certified in both specialties.
Dr. Cholst brings more than 30 years of experience to the care of her patients. Her areas of interest include the care of infertile couples, with a particular interest in medical, psychological, and ethical issues of egg donation. She is interested in menopause and in adolescent gynecology. She provides abortion services to those who need them and feels strongly about the importance of doing so.
Dr. Cholst is proud of being a full-time faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College since 1983. Her husband, Dr. Ira Goldberg, is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the division of Preventive Medicine and Nutrition at Columbia University. They live on Manhattan's Upper West Side where they have raised two children. In Dr. Cholst's spare time, she bicycles, skis, reads and enjoys good conversation.
