Douglas M. Hoffman, M.D.
Pediatrics
Dr. Hoffman was raised in Mamaroneck, New York and obtained his undergraduate business degree from Cornell in 1988. As a member of a family business, he worked in the manufacturing sector after college, but decided to pursue a career emphasizing health promotion and community service. He enrolled in the joint post-baccalaureate premedical/medical school program at the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, earning his medical degree in 1996. Dr. Hoffman completed his residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and was initially board certified in 1999. He then moved to Boston and for 13 years served as an attending pediatrician at Boston Medical Center. As chief of pediatric primary care at BMC, he focused on family advocacy and quality improvement. He practiced general pediatrics including adolescent medicine, and taught residents and medical students. As a faculty member at the Boston University School of Medicine, he was chosen multiple times by medical students as lecturer of the year in pediatrics. Dr. Hoffman strives to create partnerships with families and warmly welcomes first-time parents and caregivers. His clinical interests in pediatrics include asthma, dermatology, urgent care, and plant based nutrition.
