Nnenna Kalaya Okereke, M.D. is a child and adolescent psychiatrist whose private practice is available for diagnostic evaluations, consultations, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy. Dr. Okereke diligently provides her patients and their families with competent, compassionate care which is informed by an extensive knowledge of clinical practice. Dr. Okereke is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology who is board-certified in both child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry.

Dr. Okereke is a graduate of Harvard University where she completed a bachelor's degree in psychology. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Okereke completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia where she also served as Chief Resident in her final year there. She completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University during which time she received a Presidential Scholar award from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Okereke is currently an attending psychiatrist on the inpatient adolescent unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Westchester Division and also sees patients there in her office private practice. She is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she teaches psychiatric fellows and residents and medical students. She treats children and adolescents who have various conditions including ADHD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar illness. Her areas of particular expertise include mental health promotion and illness prevention, evaluation and treatment of early-onset psychotic disorders and management of challenging behaviors in those with pervasive developmental disorders and autism.

Dr. Okereke is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry where she has continued to serve both organizations as an active member of their various local, state, and national committees.
