Biographical Info

Dr. Doolan joined Weill Cornell as a full-time faculty staff member in September of 2017.  Prior to this he headed a large private practice in NYC. 

Dr. Doolan is the Co-Director and one of the founding members of PALP (Program for Advanced Limb Preservation) at Weill Cornell.  Dr. Doolan’s passion and expertise are in the field of wound care and limb salvage. He has been a pioneer in a multi-disciplinary (team) approach to wound care.

Dr. Doolan received his BS in Biology form Binghamton University.  He then went on the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and earned his DPM degree.  He Finished 5 years of residency in Podiatric Medicine and foot and ankle surgery in 2001. 

Dr. Doolan is an executive board member of The New Yok State Podiatric Medical Association.  He is Chief of Podiatry at both Weill Cornell and Gramercy Surgical Center, where is also serves on the Medical Advisory Board.  As an educator, he is the on-site residency director for 3 Podiatric Residency Programs, and is a National and International speaker on the topic of Limb Salvage.

Dr. Doolan is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is Board Certified by The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

In addition to limb salvage Dr. Doolan is considered an expert on the surgical treatment of Brachymetatarsia, a rare and challenging foot deformity.
