Personal Statement

Jason Kim, MD is an  Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine, and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to his academic and hospital clinical responsibilities, he maintains an active faculty practice in psychiatry and psychotherapy. He treats a wide range of conditions, with an individualized and integrated approach that incorporates psychotherapy and/or psychopharmacology as needed.

 

Biographical Info

Dr. Jason Kim completed his internship at UCLA and residency at the Payne Whitney Clinic, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He received additional training at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, the Mount Sinai Schizophrenia Treatment and Research program, and the Rockefeller University.

Dr. Kim joined the full-time faculty of the Weill Cornell Medicine following residency and supervised several Cornell outpatient psychiatry clinics, including the Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Program, Cognitive Therapy Clinic, Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Training Program, Continuing Day Treatment Program, and Psychotic Disorders clinic. He also served as Consultation-Liason psychiatrist to Cornell Internal Medicine Associates. His interests include treatment-resistant schizophrenia, mood and anxiety disorders, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and computational neuroscience. Dr. Kim is an investigator in clinical trials for schizophrenia and mood disorders.
